One-month Intensive Cabinet-Making Course
Working with hand tools is more than just woodworking—it’s about understanding. Hand tools help you connect with the wood, teaching you how each type responds differently to cutting and shaping. This understanding improves your skills and respect for the material.
Hand tools also teach you about the tools themselves. Using them requires focus and care, and maintaining them—like sharpening and tuning—builds patience and responsibility. Once mastered, these tools give you confidence to create all kinds of joinery without depending on machines.
At Jiawood, we offer a one-month intensive cabinet-making class to only four students each year. This course is a deep dive into traditional woodworking, focused on making beautiful cabinets with care and intention.
Beyond skills, working with hand tools builds character. Our classes help students develop patience, integrity, attention to quality, and an appreciation for beauty and nature.
A good woodworker learns to balance the spirit of the wood, the tool, and the craftsperson. When these come together, the work is better—and the process is more enjoyable.
